Erin R. Petrey
President
Erin R. Petrey serves as the current President of the Kentucky Society of Washington, after being elected for the 2021-2023 term. Born in Lexington, Erin first moved to Washington, DC, to complete her BA at The George Washington University in International Affairs and Anthropology. Erin returned to Kentucky for her MA at the Patterson School of Diplomacy at the University of Kentucky. She first joined the Board of KSW in 2014 as Assistant VP of Events, assuming the VP position in 2015. To date, she has mixed over 400 gallons of Mint Juleps for the Pre-Derby Party! Erin writes about Kentucky's Native Spirit as Cocktail Editor for Bourbon & Banter, and teaches virtual cocktail classes and spirits tastings. Erin loves to travel the world, experiencing new cultures and cuisines, clocking in a visit to 36 countries thus far. She is an active member of her Eckington DC community, a Founding Member and Outstanding Junior of the Foggy Bottom Chapter of DCDAR, a volunteer with DCPAWS, and aunt to the two coolest little Kentuckians. Erin lives in Washington, DC with her fiancé, Kevin (who she roped into the KSW), and their rescue pup, Lila.
